Garmin expands elearning program for avionics products

OLATHE, Kan. 17 Nov. 2009. Garmin International Inc. announced that it expanded its eLearning computer based training program content for avionics products and will also soon offer training through an online portal. This is the first time Garmin has offered online training. Starting in late-November, customers can access online training for the GPSMAP 396, 496, 695/696, G1000 for VFR flight conditions, and G1000 for IFR flight conditions from any computer that has internet access.

MAINZ, Germany, 3 Nov. 2009 SYSGO ported their Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) pre-approved implementation of software based AFDX (ARINC-664) solution combined with their flag-ship product PikeOS real-time operating system (RTOS)on the dual-core PowerQUICC III MPC8572E device from Freescale. The first application using this solution has safety-critical requirements, SYSGO officials say.

(NASDAQ: GRMN), released the Garmin G3000, the first touchscreen-controlled integrated flightdeck for light turbine aircraft avionics systems. The G3000 is designed specifically for Part 23 turbine aircraft, and was announced at the National Business Aviation Association Convention.
