DUBAI, United Arab Emirates, 18 Nov. 2009. Dubai Aerospace Enterprise (DAE) has selected Rockwell Collins communication, navigation, and surveillance avionics systems to be offered as baseline equipment for installation on 70 of the company's new Airbus A320 aircraft. Delivery of the aircraft is scheduled from 2011 through 2015. Rockwell Collins made the announcement at the Dubai Air Show.

DUBAI, United Arab Emirates, 17 Nov. 2009. The Chilean air force selected Esterline CMC Electronics for the cockpit avionics systems upgrade of its C-130 fleet. As prime contractor, CMC is responsible for delivery of its Cockpit 9000 suite, including the supply of turnkey installation kits as well as all in-country activities such as touch labor, training, and support. CMC made the announcement this week at the Dubai Air Show.

Boeing to upgrade CV-22 Trainer avionics simulation with virtual reality enhancements

ST. LOUIS, 3 Nov. 2009. Boeing [NYSE: BA] and partner Bell Helicopter won a contract from the U.S. Navy to upgrade the CV-22 Cabin Part Task Trainer (CPTT) with modifications including an aircrew flight simulation (AFS) that use virtual reality technology fused with video imagery in the avionics system. The upgrade will be delivered to Air Force Special Operations Command, 58th Training Squadron at Kirtland Air Force Base, Albuquerque, N.M. Financial terms were not disclosed.
